Wow. We have not posted since March!! LoTS has happened since then. Being torn between Myspace and blogger.com has caused some of this neglect. No issue there anymore. Myspace was blown away and we don't exist there anymore. :) Twas a mutual decision between the wife & I....too much garbage, not enough value-added content.
Also, another reason for such a long absence. Actually two reasons...names are Levi and Elijah. :0 Yep, since the last post we have birthed our second son...or, I should say Mik has birthed our second son. Levi joined us on 5/18. That is the third birthday on the 18th...Elijah, Mik, and Levi share this day, but during different months of course. He was a 10 lb kid out of the delivery room. He is now over 4 mons old, but is comparable in size to some 8-10 month old kids. We call him 'Birdie'. Elijah was 'Bubbo'. I was 'Bubby'.
So we've been adapting to the real challenges of parenting. Also been keeping busy w/ the house, slowly but surely getting things improved. A month ago, we finished Mik's backyard project, 'bird sanctuary'. It involved a tremendous amount of landscaping enginuity. Lots of sweat, countless mosquito bites, and a very sore Daniel. But in the end it transformed a small 16x20 ft area against our house. Mik has set up a plethora of bird feeders, seed pod thingys, a bird bath (well, actually the bath was my idea!) and other stuff. So out of several of our windows at any time, you can observe birds in the wild, competing w/ each other for food. Of course the squirrels seem to be just as interested. And the dogs...we try hard to keep them penned up on the other side of the yard. Once, Mik left them out all night. The next morning, there were 3 large holes dug into my prized red-granite sand pathway. BRAD!!!!!
In other news, I'm taking two online courses, working hard to finish my 'well-rounded education'. Only 6 more to go. Work is going well, with lots of challenges, and hopefully some future rewards for them. ;) One item significant to mention is...a new car! Until now, I've been spoiled. First it was a 1966 mustang fastback. Then the 94 GT verte. Downgraded over a year ago to a 95 Civic Coupe EX which has been in the family since new. It was a great car, but was only 2 doors and was getting along in mileage. Sure, I know, Hondas will last forever. Well, that is somewhat true, but somewhere down the line they start to cost you money! And we were in a position to afford a new one...so off to look at Mustangs, right? Well, that was back in June! Mik, as supportive as she can be sometimes, was not a fan of the new S197...or any Mustang at this point. It was tough, but I managed to swallow the ego and look at 'other options'. Which meant going back to Hondas. I actually like them now...the idea of doing so much, with so little, is appealing. To make a long story short, we now have a neat new Honda Fit Sport. It is the perfect vehicle for us. 4 doors, small engine, sporty handling, and a great combination of value for price. So far so good.
We're already making plans to spend more money. And we don't even have it yet! Seriously, we're looking at doing some 'light' remodeling work in our Kitchen. New counter tops, perhaps a new floor, and some other minor items. Planning for this to happen hopefully the end of this year....if we have $$ to spend. :) If not, we can certainly live w/ things the way they are. Also are looking into finishing our basement too. So lots to look forward to reading about on this blog! If, that is, I can manage to update it with frequency. We'll see. Ok, time to sleep!

I don't believe it was Brad doing the digging. Brad has often been falsely accused. For example, she was accused of killing her puppies, yet there was only scant circumstantial evidence to support the charge. She was also accused of knocking out Jack's eye. However, there were no eye-witnesses. I doubt she can be convicted of digging in the bird sanctuary. My guess is that it was a rogue groundhog.
